Know Ball ("the App") is an NBA trivia game. This policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

Data We Collect

• Anonymous account: When you first open the App, we create an anonymous account with a unique identifier. No personal information is required.
• Phone number: If you choose to link your phone number, we store it to let you sign in across devices. We do not use it for marketing.
• Profile information: Username and profile photo, if you choose to set them.
• Game data: Quiz answers, scores, streaks, and leaderboard rankings.
• Push notification tokens: If you enable notifications, we store a device token to send you daily quiz reminders.
• Diagnostics: Crash reports and performance data via Sentry to improve app stability. Crash data is linked to your user ID to help us debug issues; performance data is not linked to your identity.
• User content: Comments, reactions, and votes you post in Hot Takes discussions and Weekly Polls.

How We Use Your Data

• To provide the trivia game, leaderboards, and group features.
• To let you recover your account on a new device via phone sign-in.
• To send daily quiz reminders (if you opt in to notifications).
• To diagnose crashes and improve the App.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. Your username, profile photo, and scores are visible to other players on leaderboards and in groups you join. We use the following third-party services to operate the App:

• Firebase (Google) — authentication, database, file storage
• Sentry — error tracking and diagnostics
• Google AdMob — advertising (free tier only; removed with Know Ball Pro)
• RevenueCat — subscription management
• Expo — push notification delivery

Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account exists. Anonymous accounts that have not been active for 12 months may be deleted. If you link a phone number, your account is retained until you request deletion.

Your Choices

• You can use the App without providing any personal information.
• You can decline push notification permissions at any time in your device settings.
• You can upgrade to Know Ball Pro to remove all ads.
• You can delete your account from the Settings screen in the App, which permanently removes all your data.
• You can sign out from the Settings screen. Signing out of an anonymous account permanently deletes your data.

Children

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
